Wall Maintenance
It has been some years since the seawall construction was completed. As you should be aware any one who owns a lot is responsible for the maintenance of their sea wall. Since your wall is connected to your neighbors wall it is imperative that everyone do their part in maintaining their section of wall. Please take time to inspect your wall.
What to look for:
What to look for:
- The sod along your wall should be slightly above the concrete cap to allow for water to quickly flow over the wall. Click to see detail...
- There should be no holes along the wall. Critter holes or sink holes. See detail...
- There should be no sprinkler heads next to walls. The covenants call for all sprinkler heads to be 15 ft back from the wall.
- The should be no holes in the wall itself if there are they should be patched with like material.
- Any penetrations through the wall should be sealed tight.
- Call Lake Manager before any improvements are done with in 10 feet of the wall.
Home Owners Vole Elimination Solution

to me Rich: Please feel free to post or forward the following info to any of our lake residents having problems with voles.
1. Purchase Victor mouse traps with wooden base measuring 1 3/4" by 3 3/4" with yellow tripping mechanism 1 1/4" wide. It's important to buy Victor mouse traps as they are stronger and the trip is wide enough to capture voles.
2. Drive a 3" electrogalvanized nail through the 'V' on the Victor trap to hold it down. It's best to drill the hole first to avoid splitting the wood. If you don't anchor the traps they may disappear.
3. Place the traps without bait in the vole runs. It's best to select a spot where the vole is moving from a narrow or confined spot into a wider area, where you put the trap. Also, you can dig out the area under the trap so it lays level to the ground.
4. Check traps a couple of time a day, as voles are active both at night and during the day. The trap will catch them either around the neck or legs. If still alive, I use a pellet gun to finish off the job.
Feel free to call Craig Collins at (402) 238-2101. I eradicated over 3 dozen voles last year using this approach.
